Yogg-Saron strategy guide

The Yogg-Saron tactics bellow are part of the Ulduar tactics Guide.

Below is a details description of Yogg-Saron Abilities, and well as a suggested strategy.

Yogg-Saron Tactics Basics:

Each player will start at 100% sanity, and Yogg-Saron will be lowering it threwout the fight. Once reaching 0% the player will be mind controlled by Yogg-Saron

Standing in the Sanity Well will regenerate (estimated) 20% sanity and will reduce damage taken by 50%.

You will be able to assist yourself with the help of the defeated Raid bosses :

Freya (Will increase the Raids damage by 10% and increase healing done in raid by 20%), Mimiron (will increase all damage by 10% and movement speed by 20%), Hodir (increase damage by 10%, reduce damage taken by 20% and a "bubble" like ability that saves fatal injured raid members) and Thorim (increase damage by 10% and life by 20%).

Yogg-Saron main abilities:

Dominate Mind:
Yogg-Saron takes temporary control over a player. Also reduces the players sanity by 4%

Psycosis (3 Seconds cast):
Medium (about 7K) shadow damage and reduces sanity by 9%.

Brain Link:
Yogg-Saron links two players together. They need to stay close to each other or they will both suffer a DoT effect reducing sanity by 1% and suffer low shadow damage (about 3K) every second.

Malady of the mind (1.5 Seconds cast Fear effect):
Yogg-Saron deals medium (about 5K) damage to player, and that player is feared for 4 seconds, then jumping on an enemy. Reduces dainty by 3%.

Lunatic Gaze:
Medium (about 6K) damage and another DoT reducing sanity by 4% each second as long as you are facing Yogg-Saron.

Induce Madness (60 seconds cast):
A finisher, reducing all sanities of all the raid by 100%.

Yogg-Saron tactics phases:

The Yogg-Saron fight has 3 phases:

Phase 1: Sara (Yogg-Saron) needs to go down.
You will not be able to damage her directly, instead you need to kill guardians that spawn next to her, each death will cause an explosion that deals sara damage.

The Adds are spawned every 10 seconds from the clouds surrounding the room, and can be "forced" to spawn by running into the clouds.

Phase 1 finishes after killing 8 Guardians next to Sara.

Phase 2: Fighting the Tentacles:
Tentacles will spawn, and start attacking the players.
A portal will appear, switching players into the "brain realm". Inside the "Brain Realm" NPS will need to be killed in order to stun the tentacles and allow DPS on Yogg-Saron.

When inside the Realm players should be aware of a spell Yogg-Saron casts called: Induce Madness. They all need to get out of the realm before the cast is over, or they WILL become suffer from madness and start killing other players.

Phase 2 finishes when Yogg Saron reaches 30%.

Phase 3 finish Yogg-Saron:
Tentacles no longer spawn, instead Yogg-Saron spawns guardians.
Guardians need to be tanked away from Yogg-Saron because he will cast an AOE heal on them, that might actually heal Yogg-Saron as well.

Yogg-Saron strategy (estimated):

The following is an estimated Yogg-Saron Strategy, stay tuned for more updates in the future.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 1:
Pull and kill the Guardians spawning from the green clouds near Sara.
Be careful of their AOE explosion when they die.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 2:
Interrupt their Dark Volley Ability (it will place a healing debuf raid wide otherwise).

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 3:
Kill 8 guardians this way next to Sara

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 4:
Tentacles start to spawn.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 5:
Crasher Tentacles need to be tanked or they will place a damage debuf (20%) on the raid.
They will also put a stacking debuf on the tank whenever they are hit increasing the damage they deal to him.
Rotate the tanks whenever the debuf becomes too overwhelming.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 6:
Whenever constricting tentacles spawn they will crab a players and prevent most his actions. Kill them ASAP.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 7:
Corruptor Tentacles will keep putting poisons and debufs on the raid, interrupt them or keep them CCed with with stuns.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 8:
Assign a group of players to go threw the portal and kill the NPCs inside.
They need to get out whenever a Induce Madness is about to finish, then get back and continue DPS until they kill the NPC

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 9:
When Tentacles are stunned burn Cool Downs and burn Yogg-Saron down to 30%.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 10:
Yogg-Saron starts spawning guardians.
Tank them away from Yogg-Saron.
Make sure everyone that can continue taking action while facing away from Yogg-Saron do so (the Gaurdians Tank and DPS and so on).

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 11:
Interrupt the guardians drain life ability.
When they get low Torim will kill them with his Titan Strike ability.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 12:
When Lunatic Gaze is cast ALL Players turns away from Yogg-Saron.

Yogg-Saron Tactics step 13:
Swap tanks when they to stand on the sanity wells and regen their sanity.

Yogg-Saron Tactics Notes:

Entering the portal will break the Barin Link Yogg-Saron placed on the players.
Players have to be self aware threw out the fight, and watch closely for the sanity level. When they ae low, they need to stand inside the wells to regenerate their sanity.
