Q. I want cash! Which WOW professions should I chose to make Gold?

A. Generally speaking, all the Primary WOW professions can be divided into 2 groups: Gathering WOW professions (Herbalism, mining and skinning) and manufacturing WOW professions (all the rest…).

Gathering WOW professions are the main source of income, since you can use them to pick resources for free and them sell them to the other players for cash. The rest are usually "cash sinks" that require you to get the needed material resources somehow (either have a manufacturing + gathering profession that relate to the same resources, or just by the materials you need from other players). That why new players are recommended to take 2 gathering professions for cash until they reach end game, and only then consider dropping one (or all) in favor of manufacturing WOW profession.

However, every WOW profession is a potential money maker. You just need to know the current trend and learn which things within your WOW profession can make you cash and which are a waste of time. Because it's requires some knowledge of the game, it's more difficult to make money with those methods, but they have a very high cash making potential, since it's less likely that someone else will be trying to make cash using the same method, making your share of the market bigger.
