What is WOW Enchanting?

Enchanting is a manufacturing/ Service WOW profession, allowing your character to put powerful permanent enchants on gear, increasing their powers.

Enchants are produced from enchanting mats the enchanter can attain buy extracting the magic essence from magical gear, thus destroying the gear. This process is called Disenchanting.

Another way of getting the mats needed for the enchant process is buying those at the Auction House from other players, but that is a very expensive way of getting the mats.

What is WOW Enchanting good for?

Being a Service profession, WOW Enchanting can be a valuable profession to guild members that want to boost their guilds gear effectively and at lower costs- using enchanting mats gathered threw raids.

Once at the highest level, WOW enchanting can be used for making gold by offering your services and products to other players. Either buy:

Receiving tips for enchanting other players gear (with their mats).
Selling Enchanting mats in the Auction House.
Producing powerful gear enchanting scrolls and selling them at the Auction House.

What unique benefits (buffs) does WOW Enchanting provide Enchanters?

WOW Enchanting allows your character to enchant your own rings with enchants no other profession can use, such as:

Enchant Ring - Greater Spellpower
Enchant Ring – Assault
Enchant Ring – Stamina

Who is WOW Enchanting advised for? What should be my other profession?

1. Leveling Characters, especially alts:

Since the cheapest way of getting WOW Enchanting mats is threw disenchanting, the best way for leveling WOW enchanting is threw Disenchanting the gear you find on your way or the ones you get from quests and don't need.

Enchanting can be very expensive for level 80 characters if they try buying all the mats from the Auction House.

On the same note it is more advisable for Alts then First characters leveling since first characters could make greater use of alterative gathering profession then spending time and money on leveling enchanting.

2. Guild Enchanters.

Being the main (or first) enchanter in a guild can be a very valuable asset to any guild.
