Valiona and Theralion share a health pool and will switch places while fighting you: one of them is on the ground (and being tanked) while the other lifts off and throws various AOE attacks on you from above (and can't be targeted).This is not a DPS race. It's more important to pay attention to the different AOEs, so no one dies and healers aren't drained out of mana due to avoidable raid damage. Back to Top Valiona and Theralion main abilities:Valiona abilities:Blackout (while on the ground only):Valiona puts a DoT on a random player. When it is dispelled, or after 15 seconds, it explodes and does massive damage split between the players close to the explosion. It will 1 shot any player that takes the damage alone. Devouring flame (while on the ground only): Valiona casts a very wide (almost 180 degrees in angle) frontal cone attack. It takes about 3 seconds to cast, and Valiona will face a random player when she starts casting it. Get out of it ASAP. It's so massive in range that it will cover about half the room, pay attention! Twilight Meteorite (while flying only): A debuf on random player, that explodes after 6 seconds and does massive damage split between nearby players. Deep Breathe (while flying only, before landing): Valiona shoots a massive line shaped fire AOE on the floor. It will hit 1 of 3 areas in the room. Theralion Abilities:Engulfing Magic (while on the ground only):Theralion puts this debuf on a random player for 20 seconds. All damage or healing that player does gets reflected back as damage to all players in a 10 yards radius. That includes over time damage or over time healing that has already been cast by the player previous to receiving the debuf (and is now just ticking). Fabulous Flames (while on the ground only): High damage AOE that in places under a random players feet. Twilight Blast (while flying only): A debuf on random player, that explodes after a few seconds for AOE damage. Dazzling Destruction (while flying only, before landing): Theralion will cast very big void zones on the ground. If you do not get out of them quickly you will die. Back to Top Valiona and Theralion Tactics step by step:Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 1Put a marker on one of the melee so you know where to gather when blackout hit. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 2 Spread the raid slightly to avoid too much AOE damage, but close enough to the melee player with the marker, so it's easier to collapse on blackout, and shift places on breath attacks. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 3 Valiona starts on the ground that means you should watch for Blackouts, the player with the Blackout debuf runs to the marked Melee, together with close by players. Then the blackout is dispelled and everyone go back to their place. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 4 When Valiona suddenly turns around that means she's about to use her breath attack, quickly run threw her to her other side. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 5 Bloodlusts/ heroisms are best used on phase 1 when there's less movement. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 6 After 2 breath attacks Theralion will cast Dazzling Destruction: you have about 4 seconds to get out of before you Die. After Dazzling Destruction Valiona and Theralion will switch places: Valiona takes off and Theralion takes her place. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 7 When switching places they do not reset threat so don't be bothered about that. Assign someone to watch for Valiona when she's up in the air and call where she's going to cast Deep Breathe from. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 8 Clump the raid into 2 groups: ranged and melee, so that Meteor damage is easily shred. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 9 Players with engulfing magic step away from their group and go back when it wears off, unless that player is also about to receive a meteor, in which case he stays in the groups but stops all actions. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 10 When Fabulous Flames hits, the whole group moves a bit to the left or the right so that the room will gradually get filled up in flames and not all over the room in random places. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 11 After two engulfing magics the player assigned to watching Valiona alerts the raid where she's going to Deep Breathe from. She will do that, and land back as Theralion takes off to the air. Valiona and Theralion Tactics Step 12 Valiona and Theralion will keep switching places until the end of the fight, be careful and alert and you should be fine. |
