The end of WOW online leveling guide sites.
How did it all start?
| Ever since warcraft became such a massive success the Internet has been flooded with online leveling and information guides. Some of those information guides are amazing in the detail they provide, and you probably visited at least one of them, to name a couple good qaulity ones: Wowwiki, and thottbot. Side by side with those sites, we witnessed the birth of online leveling sites. Now, if we put aside the quality of most of those sites, (we assume they all had good intentions after all, even if they were crap….) we should examine the way they work. |
Log in, search, and Pray.Online leveling sites usually contain info on where to find quests, and maybe even tips on specific quests. However, since these are online sites, in order to benefit from them you will need to ALT+TAB outside your world of wacraft application, search what you're looking for, and hope you get a proper answer. |
Guides get more serious
As the time went by, the players demanded better quality and easier access to their leveling info (and rightfully so!). There for the guides have been taking the form of Books and PDF files, which seconds after you purchase them can be downloaded to your computer, and printed out.
But as we all know, technology and development never stop. Therefore, wow gamers welcomed the new era: |
Ingame guides and addons take overTechnology presented the "In game addon guides": no more do you need to Alt+ Tab to get your desired information. It's all inside the game. You can locate quest information and tips in every step of the way. Lately, WOW guides have been perfecting addons with the ability to put Dots on your map, informing you of your next quest spot, and even better- show you to your destination's direction with an arrow floating next to your character. Latest leveling guides with addons ARE the new standard. We can just imagine what developments and improvements lay ahead of us! |
