What exactly is power leveling?"Power leveling" is a when one player pays another person to log on into his account, and play his character for him up to a certain level. It is usually a result of a player already reaching end game with one or more character, and now wishes to skip to long an slow process of leveling a new character. "power leveling" is promoted heavily threw big companies making fortune from such players, and some exploit those players and hack into their account (see next question for more details). Actually, the reason power leveling exists at all is because: A. people aren't aware of the options out there, and special addons. B. people aren't aware of the risks involved in sharing your account information with other people. what has power leveling got to do with keyloggers?Keyloggers are people who steal your accounts name and password threw different methods. The most popular is threw posting "innocent" looking links on forums, that lead to a page that installs a program (some sort of "virus" but not exactly) that tracks your actions, reveals your name account and password, and then sends them to the people who made the "keylogging" software. Then they log into that account, take the gold, disenchant everything, and before they delete the character they post on the forums yet again with the same link, under the hacked account character. Until blizzard find out about the hack, and ban the hacked account, a new player is pressing that link, and it starts all over again. The gold being stolen is usually being sold to other players. As you may as well guessed, "power levelers" are actually potential sophisticated "keyloogers" in disguise, even if not by him in person, it may get to the hands of hackers. Therefore: Never EVER give anyone else you accounts name and password. Never. Just don't, you might live to regret it. Is power leveling a waste of money? Why?Power levelers get paid for a specific character or specific time played. If you ever want to progress further or if you want to level a new character you will have to pay again.Becuase power levelers get money for their time spent… whenever the end level is raise by blizzard it means more time for them to level, therefor more money being spent, while addons and guides offer you FREE UPDATES for when WoTLK comes out. |

Why is Power leveling a risk for me?Any form of account sharing is against the terms and conditions players have to agree to in order to play "world of warcraft". Beside the obvious Ban threat to your account, In order for another player to log into you account you have to give him your account name and password so he could log in.From that point on, they can take your personal information, log in and disenchant everything you have, steal your gold and delete your characters. Since the action of paying someone to power level your character is against blizzards terms and condition, they may not assist you in such a case… Plainly put- you're screwed. I am too BORED with leveling, and it's time consuming... What other options do I have?Actually,There are so many excellent guides and addons out there to make you level in super speed you will be amazed. Guides have had their share of bad reputation because there are so many amateur guides out there given by casual bored players, that wrote a half decent guide and now try to promote themselves. That's why we search the web, and carefully studied their propositions to recommend on what guides we thought had most potential, and that had the most special and effective features such as Zygor's guide addon or iDemise leveling guide addon that actually puts an arrow on your screen next to the character and tell you where to go. Coupled with in game menus and map addon that allows you to read and see exactly where are all of your levels quests allow for 0 time spent on things that might hold up your leveling progress. Also, unlike any power leveling, you can decide to "pause" a little on any given stage if you find a certain level entertaining, and continue "speeding up" whenever you had enough. Can't get any more flexible then that! |
