Rhyolith Tactics Basics:Rhyolith is a massive fire giant that has 80 stacks of Obsidian Armor buff on him when the fight start, each stack giving him 1% damage reduction.Rhyolith slowly moves forward, and DPSing his giant legs will make him slowly turn left or right, so you can navigate him. Making him step ONCE on aoe patches and obstacles on the ground reduce his damage reduction buff, so that's the main focus of the Rhyolith Tactics. Back to Top Rhyolith Tactics step by step:Rhyolith Tactics Step 1:While you can't Tank Rhyolith himself (Rhyolith just keep moving forwards all the time) have your tank and OT ready to pick up adds that spawn. Rhyolith Tactics Step 2: Position: Range DPS and Healers should group in the middle of the platform as much as possible, so that the big adds called sparks can be tanked in a safe spot away from the raid (they do massive AOE to anyone near them). Melee DPS focus on the legs of Rhyolith so they can steer him left and right as needed. Rhyolith Tactics Step 3: At all times make sure Rhyolith does NOT reach the outer pool of lava, or he will wipe the raid. Rhyolith Tactics Step 4: Make Rhyolith step threw active volcanos that appear, but not more then once to reduce his armor buff. Rhyolith Tactics Step 5: After Rhyolith steps in them they will make AOE damage, so be prepared for that. Rhyolith Tactics Step 6: In the same maneer have Rhyolith step in craters once. Rhyolith Tactics Step 7: When you see Rhyolith casting Stomp be prepared to jump so you're in the air when it goes off, that way you will avoid the damage. Rhyolith Tactics Step 8: Rhyolith will cast Thermal Ignition which summons groups of 5 small adds. Unlike the big ones, all the range DPS should switch to them ASAP because they explode, and do more damge the longer it takes to kill them. Rhyolith Tactics Step 9: When the big adds (sparks) are summoned, have the OT pull them to the side as they do massive AOE around them, and kill them ASAP with ranged DPS. It is best to misdirect the adds to the OT rather then have him running it and pull it to avoid raid damage. Rhyolith Tactics Step 10: When Rhyolith reaches approx 33% damage stop DPS and make sure you finish any stacking buff on him before you continue DPS. Rhyolith Tactics Step 12: After all buff stacks are removed, continue DPS, Rhyolith will drop to 30% Turn into a gianlt Golem and start phase 2. Rhyolith Tactics Step 13: The tank needs to pick him up quickly. POP Bloodlust and DPS CD and kill him. |
