Ragnaros Tactics Basics:Ragnaros is the last boss of the Firelands instance which make the Ragnaros Tactics a bit complex and long, but after a few tries at it he becomes a lot easier.The fight consists of 3 phases and 2 transitions between them. During each transition (at 70% and 40% health) Ragnaros will be underground, and you will need to fight his adds. Back to Top Ragnaros Tactics step by step:Ragnaros Tactics Step 1:Pull Ragnaros. Phase 1 starts. Ragnaros Tactics Step 2: Spread your raid around the platform. It will make healing harder, but will also allow for all the massive AOEs in this fight to do a lot less damage, Another factor is the fact that a lot of Ragnaros's abilities have knockback abilities, and you don't want too many players to be accidentally knocked back into an AOE together. Ragnaros Tactics Step 3: Ragnaros will hit random placed on the platform with his hammer, cause an AOE and waves of flames will burst out of it into 2 directions traveling along the platform. You need to watch out for the place the hammer is going to hit (it will be marked with what looks like a fat "bubbling" lava cross on the floor). Ragnaros Tactics Step 4: Ragnaros will shoot a flame at randon players called Hand of Ragnaros That upon hit will knock them back. Ragnaros Tactics Step 5: Ragnaros will place Magma Traps on the floor. If stepped on, the player will take damage and fly up in the air. Mark one player capable of slowfall/ levitate to step on the traps and detonate himself so the traps are disarmed. Ragnaros Tactics Step 6: At 70% Ragnaros will submerge under the ground and leave his hammer up, beginning transitions phase 1. Ragnaros Tactics Step 7: Pillars of lights will appear around the room and adds will start moving fast from them towards the hammer in the center of the room. If they reach the hammer, they will explode to do massive raid damage. They move slower the more damage they take. Ragnaros Tactics Step 8: To handle the adds, place the range players around the edges of the room to start slowing down the adds ASAP and let melee stay closer to the hammer and finish/ slow down the injured adds. Ragnaros Tactics Step 9: After they are all dead or the time for the transition is up, Ragnaros comes back and phase 2 starts. Ragnaros Tactics Step 10: In phase 2 10 players will have Molten Seed appear under their feet. After 10 seconds the seeds will explode and will do higher damage the closer you are to them, and adds will spawn. Ragnaros Tactics Step 11: To handle this, have the raid spread our in a big half circle shape as soon as this phase starts. After the seeds appear, quickly group up the raid to the center of the circle so that the explosion does minimum damage to the players. Ragnaros Tactics Step 12: The adds will all appear in the middle now, so you can AOE them down quickly. Ragnaros Tactics Step 13: Quickly spread out again like phase 1 and continue fighting as before. Ragnaros Tactics Step 14: At 40% a second transition will accrue, the same way it did before. Ragnaros Tactics Step 15: This time another type of adds will appear: Lava Scion. They are less dangerous, so should be killed second, but they need to be tanked, and will cause player to get a trail of fire wherever they go. Avoid that fire and avoid getting the other adds to step on it, because it will make them stronger. Ragnaros Tactics Step 16: If it takes too long to kill the Lava Scion, use bloodlust, it is essential to kill them before Ragnaros returns. Ragnaros Tactics Step 17: Ragnaros returns, and now you are in the final phase. Spread out again. Ragnaros Tactics Step 18: In addition to his previous abilities, Ragnaros will have use Engulving flames that will cover 1/3 of the platform in flames for a few seconds, you need to avoid getting hit. Ragnaros Tactics Step 19: Ragnaros will also summon giant flame boulders that will slowly roll to a random player and will explode when 4 ft away from any player, doing massive AOE damage Ragnaros Tactics Step 20: To handle the boulders use ranged attacks on them. Any hit will make them knock back and change targets, but eventually you will be overwhelmed by them, so you need to kill Ragnaros before this happens.
