How to: Maexxna for dummies guide (2,500,000 Hit points normal/ 7,600,000 Hit Points heroic).Maexxna strategy is basically a Tank and Spank. You will need be aware of maexxna's Key Abilities.Maexxna Key abilities:Web Wrap (40 secs CD):Maexxna will toss 2 players into the air until they hit the walls and stick to eat. They will be CCed and take DoT damage inside a cocoon until DPS from outside will kill it (and should do it ASAP). Players will always get stuck in the same spots, so ranged attackers should be ready in range once they've seen it once and know where the players will land. Poison Shock (15 yards AOE in front of her): AOE damage, nothing special here, just heal it. Necrotic poison: This poison effect reduces healing effects on the target by 90%, and is applies to melee in front of her. This should be cleansed/ abolished ASAP. Web Spray (40 secs CD): Cocoons ALL Raid members for 6 seconds, and deal nature damage, including the tank. Therefore healers should be ready for that phase and casr HoT and most importantly Abolish Poison on the tank to keep him alive threw those 6 seconds. Spiderlings (40 secs CD): 8 mobs will spawn next to her. Should be AOEd Down, especially to prevent them killing someone during Web Spray (and they Will if they are alive at that point) Frenzy: At 30% health Maexxna will become frenzied, increase in size, and deal 50% more damage as well have 50% haste effect on her. Maexxna Encounter strategy:Your highest priority is to prevent a situation where Web Spray occurs during her enrage.Therefore: 1. Tank pull her and stations her near the far end wall from the entrance. 2. Deal with her abilities: release people in cocoon, AOE spawn Etc. 3. Keep Abolish poison up on tank and HoT for Web Spray. 4. When she reaches 35% slow DPS down, and wait for a Web Spray to be over 5. When Webspray is finished, burn all DPS Cool Down and bring her Down ASAP. Differences between 10 man (normal) and 25 man (heroic) raids:This fight is similar in 10 and 25 Man versions.Tips and Notes:• Maexxna can not be silenced.Good Luck! |
