Q: What are leveling guide addons?

A: leveling addons, like any other addon, are additions to your game. They adds an panel to your game interface listing all the information you need to power level yourself to end game (level 85 in Cataclysm) as fast as possible.

Q: What sort of leveling information do leveling addons offer?

A: Everything.
Starting with which quests to do at any specific moment, where the quests givers are located on the map, leveling build tips and so on. More importantly, leveling addons will tell you which quests to not bother with, and what root to take so you won't end up going back and forth and killing the same mobs over and over for different quests.

Leveling addons also add an arrow to your screen directing you where to go, so you're never lost. They also place a dot on your map and mini-map.

Q: That sounds suspicious… I heard of a lot of programs that are illegal, and may get you banned by blizzard….

A: Addons aren't independent programs. They are intended additions to your game, made possible by blizzards programming. All they do is enable you to play better threw changes to your interface. Blizzard do not approve third party applications that "play" instead of you, which isn't the case here.

In short:, Leveling addons are 100% legal, and there is no risk of a ban when using any of the guides and addons listed in this site. I am using them myself, and I would not risk banning my 5+ Years old account.

Q: How fast can I level with leveling addons?

A: I leveled 5 characters from 1 to 80 in less then 8 days each, and back then (start of WoTLK) I had no heirlooms and leveling 1-80 was a lot harder then it is today.
There is no reason why other players won't make it a lot faster today.
If the character you play is your very first, you might take a day or so more I suppose.

Q: If I get it, can I use it on existing charcter? Will I have to start a new one?

A: You can use leveling addons on an existing character at any level.

Q: Is there any limit on how many characters I can use the leveling addon on?

A: No.
Once you got yourself a leveling addon you can use it on as many characters you want, it's yours to use as you see fit.

Q: I heard you can actually make gold with leveling addons?

A: You heard correct. When reaching the highest level possible, most players are "ahead" of their leveling guide. Mainly because they didn't play 24/7, which gave them "rested" play time (increased XP from monsters killing) or because they did some instancing while leveling.

Whatever the reason may be, when you finish leveling ahead of our leveling guide, you can continue doing the quests as usual you get awarded cash instead of XP, usualy summing up in thousands of very easy (and fast!) gold.

Q: Sounds like doing dailies to me…

A: True, only you will be finishing the quests a lot faster then daily quests, since you will be at higher level then you should be on the leveling zones, and there will probably be a lot less competition from other players trying to finish the same daily quests. Leveling quests are also significantly easier and shorter then daily quests.

Q: Are there any other similar Addons you recommended?

A: Yes.
The two leveling addon creators I recommend on this article (read below) also offer similar addons for Dailies, Achievements and professions. Meaning the addon will tell you what to do and where to go with the arrow, for you daily gold, or your achievements and titles desired.

Q: Which Leveling Addons are recommended then?

Zygor's Leveling guide Addon: Simply because I used it on so many characters in such a great success, I can not recommend it enough. However, in my opinion it lost the leading place to:

Ultimate Leveling Guide addon: Because it has additional "tricks" such as helping you find quest items in your inventory and so on, to lower the leveling time to minimum, as well as offer a bundle of useful guides beyond pure leveling, such as:

and so on, which zygor guides don't offer.
