Kologarn strategy guide for dummies (21 Million Hit Points)

Kologarn strategy Basics:

Kologarn strategy is of a "tank and spank" fight with 2 rotating tanks and a twist: His hands are targatable and can be killed like a separate mob (about 5 Million Hit Points each). Below is a narrated Kologarn tatics movie.

Kologarn main abilities:

Overhead Smash (30 seconds debuf, about 15 seconds Cool Down):
Kologarn will put a debuf on the tank, reducing armor by 25%.
Kologarn's Over head smash is the reason you need to rotate tanking him between 2 tanks, so that the debuf will wear off.

Focus Eyebeam (AOE):
Kologarn shoot a beam from his eyes on a random raider, causing medium (4K) damage each second to the target and near by raiders, as well as following the target.

Shockwave (AOE):
This ability is activated by Kologarn's left hand. Meaning if you kill the hand, this ability will stop until the hand is respawned (about 30 -45 Seconds).

Kologarn strategy step 1:
Start tanking Kologarn.
Tanks should rotate the overhead smash debuff.

Kologarn strategy step 2:
Positioning: Range DPS should clear some space in the back for player later getting focused eye to run to.They should spread out as well, so that it will be easier to spot who got the focused eye on them.
DPS starts focusing Kologarn's right arm (the raid's "left" arm when facing Kologarn).

Kologarn strategy step 2:
When Kologarn grabs raiders, assign a healer (or two, depending on your healers skills and gear) to heal the grabbed raiders.

DPS continues DPSing his right arm, this should shortly free the trapped raiders.

Kologarn strategy step 4:
Pay attention to Eye Beams. They will chase a raider and start AOEing him and chasing him. The focused raider should run to the back and continue moving until the focus ends.

Kologarn strategy step 5:
As soon as Kologarn's right arm is destroyed the OT turnes to pick up the adds and they are killed.

If kologarn's left arm's damge is too overwhelming for your healer, you can attempe killing it as well.

Kologarn strategy step 4:
Eventualy the killing his hands will lower the life of Kologarn, allowing you to switch to him, burn all CoolDowns and kill him.

Kologarn hard mode:

Like many other bosses in Ulduar, Kologarn may have an optional hard mode, further complicating the Kologarn strategy, but also increasing the loot Kologarn drops.

How ever, it is rumored that Kologarn will not have a hard mode.
