How to: Loatheb strategy for dummies guide (6,700,000 Hit Points normal/ 20,000,000 Hit Points heroic). This encounter is not particularly demanding tanking wise, since aggro is not a problem. This fight is all about managing healing and having enough DPS to finish him off in time.Loatheb Key abilities:Necrotic aura (20 secs CD, lasts 17 seconds):This aura will prevent ALL healing on the entire raid. That means that healers will have only 3 seconds window to heal between these auras. Damaged DPS raid members should be aware of that and help the healers on the healing task. Anything goes: bandages, potions and self healing. They just need to make sure they do not use them while aura is on because they will no work. Deathbloom (30 seconds, entire raid): The "reverse" spell of druid's lifeblood. This will put low DoT on the raid and after 6 seconds bloom for about 1.5K damage. This can not be dispelled, but Priests shield can prevent the "bloom" effect (and that only). Inevitable bloom (30 seconds CD): Will be cast after 2 minutes of fighting, and will cause moderate shadow damage (about 4K) to all raid (well, 100 yards, but everyone will probably in that range). After 5 minutes the CD will go down to 15 and the raid will probably wipe. Loatheb encounter Strategy:Here comes the good news:During the fight Fungal Creeps will spawn from the far ends of the room and make their way slowly to Loatheb. They should be killed before reaching him because doing so will put a 2 minute buff on the nearest 5 player that increases crit chance by 50%. They will spawn about every 30 Seconds and the raid members should take turns in taking the buff so that everyone has it. You can either pre determine groups buff order for killing the spores or any other method you like to arrange this, but everyone must get the buff, because without it the DPS will probably not be enough to kill him, and the healers will not be able to keep up with the damage on the 3 seconds time window they have. Tips and Notes:• Save blood lust for when all the raid DPS has the buff.• Druids can stack LB so that the bloom will occur during the 2 seconds window • Healers can start casting big heals while the debuf is on, so that the spell will finish and land inside the healing window frame. • You can have 2 -3 tanks (on 25 man) rotating the boss damage between them to make healers' job easier. • Since threat is not an issue, Paladin tanks can help heal themselves in the 3 seconds heal window Differences between 10 and 25 man version: There aren't any.
