Freya strategy for dummies guide (4.2 Million HP heroic/ 1.4 Mill normal)

The following Freya strategy refers to the Ulduar raid instance (10 and 25 man raid).
For discussions on Freya strategy visit theRaiding Forum.

Freya Strategy basics:

Freya is basically a healing machine, because she has insane +healing buff on herself ("attune with nature" buff) when the fight starts. Killing the massive amount of adds Freya summons will cause her to lose stacks of the Debuff.

After 6 waves of adds being killed, you are able to tank and kill Freya.

Freya main abilities:

Sunbeam: (8 Yards AOE, centered on Target)
Causes 12K nature damage (about 8-9K on normal)

Touch of Eonar: (heal)
Heals Freya for 24K (about 9K on normal).

Summon adds:

Freya will summon any of the following add groups:

Freya Add Group type #1:

Freya summons 3 adds: Snaplusher, Storm lasher and Ancient water spirit.
These adds don't have much life, but they have 2 tricky aspects:

1. They need to die a few seconds from each other, or they will ressurect each other back to life. Either split DPS between them to make sure they go down at once, or make sure they are lowered one by one to aboue 20%- 30% and then finished off all at the same time.

2. Snaplusher gains a damage buff whenever it gets hit, which may kill your tank. When it gets to about 30 stacks, stop DPS on him for a few seconds (4-5 seconds will do) so that the buff wears off him.

Freya Add Group type #2:

Freya summons a large group of detonating lashers.
They have low life and die easly, but explone on death.
Start with AOE, and when they go low enough switch to direct damage spells so that healers will be able to overcome the exposions gradually and not all at once.

Freya Add Group type #3:

Freya summons Ancient Conservator that silances all the raid, except the ones standing under big mushrooms that grow. Raid member should stand under them, and pay attention to his ability: Natures Fury that will cause a raid member to do AOE damage to raiders near him for 10 seconds, if your all clumped up under the same mushroom that may prove fatal.

Freya strategy:

Freya Strategy step 1: Pull Freya, cause her some damage so that she summons the first group of adds, but do NOT waste any cool down or lose too much mana

Freya Strategy step 2:
Occatianly freya will spawn a "tree of life" kind of mob that will grow from the floor. It does'nt have a lot of life itself, but it heals all the adds around him, therefore should be killed ASAP (dies fast, 2 raid member on him should be enough).

Freya Strategy step 3:
Kill wave Number 1, it can be any of the 3 types of add groups, you will have 1 minute to kill it.

Freya Strategy step 4:
Repeat step#2 till all 6 waves are dead.
Freya will NOT summon the same type of adds group back to back.

Freya Strategy step 5:
Tank and spank freya, be sure to pull her away from the spots on the floor, as the will detonate and make kill your tank

Freya Strategy step 6:
Burn all Cool Downs and finish freya off.

Freya Hard mode:

Like many other bosses in Ulduar, Freya has an optional hard mode, further complicating the Freya strategy, but also increasing the loot Freya drops.

Freya hard mode is achievated by killing freya while all her 3 guardians are alive.
